Biodata of ACP Hussein Omar Khan
Assistant Commissioner Hussein Omar Khan, is the Chief Assistant Director D13 of the Royal Malaysian Police. He received his bachelor degree in Biochemistry from University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur and have both an MBA degree and a M. Sc. degree in Forensic Investigation from Multimedia University, Malaysia and Universityof Teesside, Middlesbrough, Cleveland, United Kingdom, respectively.
He has held several important positions as the Head and Deputy Head of DNA Databank of the Royal Malaysia Police Forensic Lab from the year 2006 to 2012. He had received vast international trainings, including training on DNA Profiling and Biological Examination, in Melbourne, Australia; DNA Database Management in ESR Auckland, New Zealand; Advance DNA Software (GENEMAPPER Id) in Rockville, Washington DC, USA and many more. ACP Hussein Omar Khan had also been actively involved in several international investigations including, Advanced Subaquatic Forensic Investigation in Gendemarie, Antibes, France and the latest in the MH17 crash in Kiev, Ukraine, where he was the Commander of the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) for the Royal Malaysian Police.
ACP Hussein Omar Khan will share his experience in MH17 tragedy with us during this conference. He was among the 36 members of the investigation team from Malaysia who were the earliest to arrive on the scene of the crash to identify the victims when the incident occurred on 17 July 2014.
